Yoga and Transformation: Meditation

Meditation is one of the eight limbs of the yogic path. It is both a great deal more and a great deal less than most people suppose it to be. For many of us, a formal meditation practice - where one sits quietly with eyes closed and gradually, through any number of methods, brings the mind to a state of awareness of the present moment - can help us to reduce stress, increase mental focus, and nourish ourselves. Meditation practice is also another tool for realizing yoga (union with all things).
